Again, a failed visual investment in the capital: the capital has been suffering from extreme heat for weeks, but the drinking fountain of the high-traffic Keleti underpass has not been working since last winter, functioning as an ashtray.

Another, non-functioning drinking fountain has been added to the series of failed developments of Mayor Gergely Karácsony: since last winter, not a drop of water has come from the drinking fountain in the underpass of Keleti Railway Station.

Its nose-wringing smell can already be smelled from afar, after long-tanned butts are seen in it.

It is not known when it was last cleaned, nor is it known whether the drinking fountain, which becomes especially important in the extreme heat, ever functioned at all.

Often the people of Budapest don't even know whether to cry or laugh, because it's more like a miracle in the capital when something works. Especially when it comes to public toilets or drinking fountains. In a short period of time, this is already the second drinking fountain that can be used for free and is (could be) popular during the heat, which has not been working for almost a year, but it can't even be said that it at least looks good.

The underpass of the Keleti Pályaudvar, maintained by the capital, is one of the busiest points in Budapest, yet the dysfunctional drinking fountain, which has turned into an ashtray, is not cleaned.

In addition, it is located right between the BKK machine and the ticket office, so even among the employees of the capital's companies, only those who don't have it will not poke their eyes out.

In the meantime, Gergely Karácsony distributed HUF 200 million rewards among the capital's business managers,

including the head of the BKK, Walter Katalin, who was ripping off the passengers. In addition to his 2.8 million monthly salary, he can pocket HUF 11.6 million, while at the beginning of the year he initiated fewer flights. Imre Mártha, the Budapest utility manager who is otherwise a billionaire and lives a luxurious life, also received 11.7 million, while such conditions exist, for example, in the Keleti underpass.

The well in the underpass at Keleti is not the only one that is out of order. We recently announced that II. From the public fountain in Pope János Pál Square, which was newly installed more than 1.5-2 months ago, but has not been working since then. However, according to the meteorological forecast, the long-lasting extreme heat of July will return again in August...

The II. Pápa János Pál Square is an embarrassing place for Gergely Karácsony anyway, because it is here that the "Exemplary place of toilet" is located, whose soap opera-like design was also hacked by the knife of the capital's management.

The case is also remarkable because the "bankrupt mayor" built the toilet after half a year of dilettante agony, despite the protests of the locals.

as a program of the Community Budget. And since the Mekk Eleks finally found water and electricity, i.e. the facility was ready, the mechanics have been coming out on a daily basis due to constant vandalism.

Gergely Karácsony is proud of the Blaha Lujza tér public toilet, with which he even took a selfie. Since its handover, it has practically broken down or is inoperable.

The interesting part of the story is that the mayor's famous bud selfie was originally taken out of defiance, with which he wanted to prove a few days after the ceremonial handover that he was no dilettante.

The mayor wrote on his social media page about the unconventional selfie: "According to Fidesz and its affiliated media, the renovation of Blaha Lujza tér is another proof of how much of a dilettante I am. Their main argument was that we left out the public toilet from the plans. On this occasion, I would like to present to you the beautiful, 21st-century barrier-free public toilet of the renewed Blaha, which we will put into operation soon". We had to wait a little longer for the opening, so that we could marvel at the filth that usually reigns in the toilet, not to mention the case of drug addicts and pros...

So there is something to do in Budapest in terms of drinking fountains and toilets!
