The Democratic Coalition is talking about a "stomach-turning" government measure, which cannot bear the fact that the Orbán government is taking care of children across the border.
Balázs Barkóczi, a politician from the Democratic Coalition, voiced his indignation because the Hungarian government supports Hungarians across the border.
"It's enough that Hungarian children save the school-starting support of those across the border!" - Barkóczi wrote in his statement,
according to whom "while there is no state school start support in Hungary, and the family allowance has not even increased since 2008, the Orbán government has increased the school start support for those across the border by about five times in recent years".
"While it costs the government HUF 100,000 for a child from across the border to start school, the children of Hungarian taxpayers; Hungarian taxpayers of the future will receive HUF 0, i.e. zero forints for the same, saying that Hungarian families must be self-sufficient", stated the Gyurcsányist politician, who said that if local governments and non-governmental organizations did not help instead of the state, hundreds of thousands of Hungarian children would start the school year incomplete with equipment, without school supplies.
"As social democrats and honest Hungarian patriots, we find it stomach-churning that the government does not respect Hungarian families and children so that it can buy votes from across the border by saving on them. We don't pay the highest taxes in the world so that our children don't see anything from the money we pay," he stated.
As is well known, within the framework of the "Motherland in Hungarian" program, elementary school, high school and university students across the border are awarded HUF 100,000 start-up aid per head of government in the same way as last year, the project is covered by the Gábor Bethlen Fund.
