The cross on Nagy-Szénás was desecrated again

Just over a year after the cross on the Nagy-Szénás mountain peak in the Pest County was set on fire, unknown persons once again desecrated the symbol of Christianity.

This time, a sign was placed on the cross erected in January on the hill near Nagykovácsi, with the inscription: "In memory of the victims of the church".

The perpetrators attached the fiber board to the cross, on which the above text was written, a local young man published pictures of what happened on one of the settlement's Facebook pages.

Memorable, a year ago

By the way, the cross was erected in 2019 in memory of a journalist by his friends, Nagy-Szénás was a favorite place of their late colleague, he often went there, he liked to relax there. In recent years, the cross has provided an uplifting sight to many hikers, as it reached the sky at the top, and the locals did not object to it either.

The burning of the cross erected years ago on the 550-meter high peak, which is also part of the Blue Tour, caused serious anger among the residents of the village, while some immediately started a collection to replace the iconic cross as soon as possible through public cooperation, the liberal side of the settlement is almost happy that some people set campfires made from the burned symbol.

In January of this year, there was a turning point in the story,

Zoltán Vitéz said at the time: "I am a Christian. I don't go to church at all, I confess honestly, but I am God-fearing. Out of civil disobedience, I decided to take criminal responsibility, and if this cross is broken, if it is torn, I will put it back in its place."

Almost exactly one year after last year's cross burning, the cross on Nagy-Szénás has been attacked again, and through this, Christianity.
