The Hunyadi production is on the threshold of unprecedented opportunities for Hungarian television production: according to industry informants, they are close to introducing the medieval-themed TV series into the MIPCOM CANNES 2024 offer.

Television professionals from more than 100 countries and heads of the world's major studios traditionally participate in the Cannes event, which is the most prestigious television event of the year in Europe. It is the place where the biggest television companies, film and series production companies and streaming providers meet; there are regular professional presentations, and since this is basically a film fair, it is also decided here what will be shown on the screen in the following months.

The industry's most important global parade will be held this October on the famous Croisette promenade for four days.

At the 40th MIPCOM CANNES, premieres of the most anticipated programs will be held this time, and the works will be selected by the organizers and the cream of the profession. This year's schedule is very tight, the zero day this year was taken by Paramount, this evening everyone is busy with the world premiere of the series Watson, featuring Sherlock Holmes' faithful assistant.

The first (official) day focuses on the Spaniards, who were chosen as the "host", and they also have the opening ceremony.

This means that there is still room for rent in the screening room for the second day, but at least a dozen and a half giga productions from all over the world are bidding for it.

In other words, the plan is quite ambitious, but the creators of the co-production series of the Hungarian National Film Institute and Beta Film want to be there, among the greats. At the same time, several independent sources have confirmed that Hunyadi may even have a chance to do so - no official announcement has been made in this regard so far.

The importance of MIPCOM CANNES is clearly shown by the fact that, for example, the return of The X-Files in 2016 was embedded in this event.

In February, Variety wrote about the Hunyadi television series as one of the most epic European television productions. Hunyadi is the passion of the Canadian-Hungarian producer Robert Lantos, the series was made with more than 600 international actors and stuntmen.

The special feature of the work is that the characters speak in their own mother tongue, thus increasing the historical authenticity. The series is shown in Hungary by TV2.

Kádár L. Gellért, Vivien Rujder and Franciska Törőcsik can be seen in the main roles, alongside international stars such as Laurence Rupp, Giancarlo Giannini and Karel Roden. Among the directors are the Oscar nominee Robert Dornhelm, as well as Orsi Nagypál, Attila Szász and Balázs Lengyel, the latter is also the showrunner of the series.
