According to János Lázár, there is no need "for pseudo-opposition or pseudo-opposition Fidesz politicians to bully passengers with lies."
On Monday, the Minister of Construction and Transport, János Lázár, held a meeting with the managers of MÁV and Volánbusz, which he reported on social media.
"We cannot magically renew the MÁV vehicle fleet and the domestic railway tracks - we have a 30-year deficit, but we will start," the minister wrote, and then continued by saying that around half a thousand kilometers of rails will be renovated and the domestic IC cars will be restarted with nearly HUF 850 billion manufacture and acquire high-quality used vehicles.
"However, what can be changed in a short time is the attitude towards passengers: meaningful help and support for passengers in difficult situations caused by the inherited fleet and infrastructure conditions," the head of the ministry pointed out, emphasizing that this is what he expects first from the new management of the MÁV group, which he presented to the company's board of directors and supervisory board, as well as to the interest representatives during their meeting on Monday morning.
János Lázár also pointed out that: in the private meeting, he also made it clear that
shaping the image of Hungarian state railways cannot be left to self-appointed or frustrated transport experts.
"I also expect the new leaders of the MÁV group to personally participate in the discussions about the MÁV - but so far apparently without the MÁV," he added.
"Hungarian railways have enough problems, there is no need for fake opposition or fake opposition Fidesz politicians (it would be time to decide) to incite passengers against it, even with slips and lies," said the Minister of Construction and Transport.
