Blood donors are welcomed with beer, hot dogs and surprise gifts, thanking them for their altruism.
This September, the National Blood Service is organizing the traditional Retro blood donation for the 16th time in 29 locations across the country.
The service told MTI on Tuesday that 1,600-1,800 blood donors are needed every day in order to ensure a continuous and safe blood supply.
Blood donors are welcomed with beer, hot dogs and surprise gifts, thanking them for their altruism, they added.
In most cities, blood donation is held on September 7, but in the Budapest Retro Experience Center, voluntary blood donors are expected on the 5th, between 2 and 7 p.m.
It was indicated that an identity card, social security number and residential address card are required to donate blood; more information about donating blood www.ovsz.hu/veradas .
