It is fake news that residential district heating rates will decrease in October, the Ministry of Energy announced. The reduction does not affect residential users, but may mean further relief for state and local government institutions.
Last year, the government halved the district heating fees of the so-called separately managed institutions on two occasions, as a result of which the relevant state and local government budget bodies are already paying a quarter of the items at the end of 2022.
In the new gas year, these institutions can once again expect a large reduction in their expenses.
The government ensures the lowest electricity and gas prices in Europe for Hungarian families by reducing utilities. The district heating prices of households with overhead protection did not change during the wartime energy crisis and will not change on the first of October either.
