Member States and the European fishing industry are criticizing Norway for unilaterally appropriating quotas for certain fish species, and are calling on the European Commission to introduce trade sanctions to protect the market, reports Mandiner following Euractiv.

It was said at the meeting of the Agriculture and Fisheries Council,

Norway has significantly exceeded its quota for certain pelagic species such as mackerel.
