Although the water has already been pumped out of the pools, the opening of the burned-out cave bath still has to wait a long time.

It is certain that a new era is beginning in the life of the cave bath in Miskolc, and since we are talking about multibillion-dollar damage, which includes the replacement of the entire electrical network and the mechanical department, the renovation may take a long time - József Tóth-Szántai informed hirado.hu , the mayor of Miskolc.

It's been almost a month since the roof structure of the cave bath in Miskolctapolca caught fire and burned down completely, and with it, the touristic mainstay of Miskolc and the county collapsed. It is already known that the fire started on the terrace, which was caused by an outdoor lamp, and intentionality has been ruled out - stated Judit Németh, managing director of Miskolci Fürdők Zrt.

The medical center of the Miskolctapolca Cave Bath burned with huge flames

"In the fire, the entire roof structure of the Miskolctapolca Cave Bath was destroyed, significant damage was caused to the electrical network, and the condition of the rocks is being investigated with the involvement of experts. There are only a few parts of the bath hall that were not affected by the fire"

he added. It is certain that a new era is beginning in the life of the Miskolc cave bath, and since we are talking about multi-billion dollar damage, which includes the replacement of the entire electrical network and the mechanical department, the renovation may take a long time. According to Judit Németh, it would be irresponsible to say exactly how much time this means, now

the most important task is to start the remedial work and prevent further damage from occurring.

To this end, the management turned to a notary public and initiated a preliminary evidence procedure, in the framework of which the problems and the damage caused are recorded. In order to preserve the structure, one of the most important tasks is to cover the burned roof structure, which, as the executive woman said, will not be so easy, they are facing a much more specialized demolition process than expected. However, while the work of the evidence experts continues, this will have to wait, and the focus will be on cleaning the interiors.

On Monday, for example, the pumping out of the sewage from the pool of the bathing hall began. After that, they can start cleaning the pool area, which is also a big task, since the debris and dirt caused by the fire and extinguishing must be removed from the entire pool area.

"We received the permission from Miskolci Vízmű Kft. that we can discharge the water into the sewer network. After that, of course, we also clean the pools in order to get rid of the sooty dirt and refill the pools with water as soon as possible, since the right humidity is very important in order to preserve the rocks in the cave."

Judit Németh added.

Currently, reorganizations are used to ensure that jobs are not lost, most of the employees perform cleaning tasks,

and the boat and pedal boat rentals previously operated by student workers are also provided by the employees of the spa at the boating lake in Miskolctapolca.

The government will provide all assistance for the reconstruction of the spa complex

János Nagy, the head of the Prime Minister's Cabinet Office, recently visited the burnt cave spa. Both he and Minister of National Economy Márton Nagy assured the elected mayor that the government would provide all possible assistance for the reconstruction of the cave bath, since in addition to the loss of tourism income, the livelihood of the families of those working there was also at risk, as the bath was forced to take a break due to restoration work, guests can't bet.

After the meeting with the Minister of National Economy, the mayor of Miskolc, József Tóth-Szántai, informed that a government restoration working group would soon be formed, which would include tourism specialists, with whom they would try to rebuild the cave bath in Miskolctapolca as soon as possible.

"The first and most important goal is to create the possibility of reopening as soon as possible. I can say without exaggeration that the burning down and closing of the cave bath directly or indirectly put hundreds of families in Miskolc in a difficult situation. Therefore, we will do our best to reopen the spa. Considering the extent of the damage, the renovation works will certainly take many months. But we will do everything we can to renovate and beautify Miskolc's jewel of European fame!

- emphasized the mayor of Miskolc.

A coalition has started for the cave spa

The current and former mayor of Miskolc, József Tóth-Szántai and Pál Veres, who have been in office since October 1st, jointly created a donation bank account to receive donations for the reconstruction of the cave bath in Miskolc.

"We thought that in this case, as in many other cases since the local government elections, we would help each other, so we jointly created a bank account number, which actually serves the purpose of giving the citizens of Miskolc who feel they want to help an opportunity to show their willingness to help"

- said József Tóth-Szántai, who added that "the coming together of the city has already shown many times how important Miskolc is to those who stayed here, to those who feel that this city has a future, and how important it is that the some things that we from Miskolc are very proud of, we can also be proud of in the coming period."

Civilians and the government are also providing assistance for the reconstruction of the Miskolctapolca Cave Bath

In recent weeks, many offers have been received, and they are not only of a financial nature: many have offered cleaning agents, human resources or foil for covering the roof.

"This is a collaboration in the life of the city, but I think perhaps in the life of the entire country, which can be exemplary" -

pointed out Judit Németh, managing director of Miskolci Fürdők Kft.

The fate of the treatments started in the medical department of the cave bath has been decided

Every year, three hundred thousand people visited and used the services of the cave bath, which Miskolci Fürdők Kft. continues to provide, but at different locations.

Gift vouchers containing a valid spa service can still be redeemed in the Ellipsum adventure spa and include a massage service, and they can even be used in the Selyemrét beach spa in the following period.

Many of the patients with referrals to the aquatherapy department were at a loss, and were given good news by Judit Németh, who said that everyone would be informed about the details soon.

Several weeks ago, the spa requested the help of the director general of the Borsod-Abaúj-Zemplén County Central Hospital and University Teaching Hospital to ensure that the masseurs and physiotherapists of the cave spa can continue to carry out these activities at an external location, as it is extremely important that the patients receive their treatments from those specialists. , with whom they started them.

Progress has now been made in this regard, and soon everyone will be able to use the previously prescribed service at the Borsod-Abaúj-Zemplén County Central Hospital and University Teaching Hospital in Diósgyőr.
