Individually, the penalty for the crimes that Péter Magyar may have been a part of as the CEO of the Student Loan Center can be several years in prison. As the junior constitutional lawyer Zoltán Lomnici explained to the Magyar Nemzet , among other things, the suspicion of mismanagement may also exist in the overpriced contracts that the state company concluded under Hungarian management with a limited company whose payroll included his own younger brother at the time.

Péter Magyar may have been involved in the commission of several crimes when, under his leadership, Diákhitel Központ Zrt. concluded overpriced contracts with a company whose younger brother was also on its payroll. The report of the Government Control Office (Kehi) - published the other day by Átlátszó - talks about overpriced contracts, mentioning PlanB Magyarország Kft. according Media1, Péter Magyar's brother, Márton Magyar, received a salary from the summer of 2019. When asked by Media1, the Tisza Party admitted that Péter Magyar's brother worked at PlanB. It was written that Kft. employed Márton Magyar as a project manager for about six months, with a monthly salary of HUF 300,000. Although the answer also mentioned that Márton Magyar resigned himself in February 2020, they did not say why he decided to do so.

– If Péter Magyar, as the CEO of the Student Loan Center, concluded overpriced contracts, resulting in a loss of property, or if he made payments to family members based on fictitious contracts, beyond the obvious conflict of interest, he could have exhausted the legal facts of the crime of misappropriation, and possibly negligent handling may also arise in the case

Zoltán Lomnici, younger, pointed out to us. According to the scientific director of the Századvég Public Knowledge Center Foundation, a more serious violation may have occurred, because if at least three persons can be proven to have participated with the purpose of committing an intentional crime, then we can speak of committing a crime in a criminal organization, which, like multiple offenses, may arise as an aggravating circumstance in a possible criminal proceeding. The maximum penalty for embezzlement is ten years in prison.

– If the crime was committed by causing a minor (from 50 to 500 thousand HUF) pecuniary loss, the penalty for misdemeanors is imprisonment for up to two years, and if the crime was committed by causing a greater pecuniary loss between HUF 500,000 and 500,000, then three years the sentence can be a prison term of up to The penalty can be from one to five years if the misappropriation causes a significant financial loss, i.e. from five to fifty million forints

explained the younger Zoltán Lomnici.

The constitutional lawyer also touched on the fact that if funds from the central or European Union budget were used or caused a financial disadvantage to the budget in some other way, there may be a suspicion of budget fraud, which is usually punishable by up to three years in prison. - Making a statement with an untrue content or concealing the real facts entails the said sanction, if this also results in a pecuniary disadvantage - he added. According to his words, in similar cases, the crime of negligent handling may also arise, the focus of which is the violation or neglect of the duty of asset management or asset supervisor. In such cases, the penalty is imprisonment for up to three years, if the negligent treatment causes particularly great or greater financial disadvantage.

The aforementioned Kehi investigation reveals that PlanB was paid handsomely, for example, a study compiled from content mostly available on the Internet cost one hundred thousand forints per page, and a total of four million were paid for it, and 4.4 million were paid for a presentation consisting of 18 slides. As our paper has already reported, an investigation is currently underway regarding the management of the Student Loan Center Zrt., in which the opinion on the consulting activity and the related contracts are available to the investigating authority.

It is also worth mentioning that Péter Magyar's brother recently appeared on the media market as the owner of Kontroll Média Szolgáltató Kft.

Although Márton Magyar denies that the launch of the new medium has anything to do with the Tisza Party, he helped Péter Magyar organize interviews a few months ago, that is, he actually participated in the campaign.
