Bandi Fekete-Győr took a victim pose after receiving a minor suspension.
As we reported, the court sentenced András Fekete-Győr to a one-year suspended prison sentence for the crime of group violence against an official committed as an accomplice, for throwing a smoke grenade at the police queue wall in 2018 during the protests over the so-called overtime law.
András Fekete-Győr was sentenced with finality, his parliamentary mandate is given to Katalin Cseh
After the verdict, the politician of the moment took a victim pose in a Facebook post, as follows:
"I became the first political convict in the period since the regime change. Although I could do it, I will not use the possibility of parliamentary re-delegation, I will hand over my mandate to Katalin Cseh. As the president of the Let's Start Hungary party foundation, I myself continue the fight for a new regime change.
Today, the court sentenced me to a legally suspended prison sentence, because in 2018 I protested against the government with a smoke candle at the anti-slavery demonstrations. Although I did not cause any injury or material damage to anyone, this did not interest the Metropolitan Court of Appeal, which was overthrown by Fidesz.
With this judgment, we took another step towards the Hungary of the 1950s. Today, there is no need to look for parallels with a magnifying glass: in 2024, the government clearly serves Russian interests again, reviving the ÁVH under the name of the Sovereignty Protection Office - one of the newly appointed leaders of which, by the way, was a III/III agent.
Since the Pegasus scandal, we have known that surveillance is also part of the Orbán regime's everyday life."
When a hysterical kicks in
The left-wing politicians and their cronies tried with all their might to prove that what they did was actually a heroic deed, not a crime, writes Gábor Bokor in Mandiner.
Fekete-Győr wrote on his social media page that he became the first political convict since the regime change on Thursday. According to him, he "protested with a smoke candle" against the government, moreover, he did not injure the police, and the verdict is another step towards the Hungary of the '50s.
András Fekete-Győr was probably looking at his purple pen in history class, how well it would look on A4 paper, when he was teaching about the Hungary of the Rákosi era. What happened on Thursday was not a cancerous sentence, not a witch hunt, but a strict sentence whose time was finally here.
How why? Because 'sameg, whatever heightened mood, whatever demonstration,
we do not throw smoke grenades, smoke spears,
let's name it and litigate anyway, we won't throw a policeman. And to those who do, all you can say is:
who goes as a cheerleader, don't be surprised if...
The politician must set an example, the politician's job is not to commit a crime, to be at the forefront, to behave as if he is leading his camp! If someone takes a smoke grenade and throws it at the police, it's not a demonstration, it's hooliganism. Fekete-Győr and his neighbor should have said one thing: "We apologize to everyone we offended, we are sorry!". But they didn't do that,
on the other hand, from Hadházy to the color of the old opposition, they took over the social media, hand in hand with everyone,
saying that a political judgment has been reached.
Taking responsibility just doesn't work! This is what you don't have, neither does any left-wing party! Self-pity and dictatorship work, but this is not the case now. Not even a common citizen, let alone a politician, whose number one rule is:
he doesn't throw police, he doesn't steal from the store, he doesn't beat the woman, but he obeys the rules, that's what he swore to do. Those who are unable to do so, the bench of shame awaits, where it belongs.
The funniest commenter on Fekete-Győr's self-pitying post was Gábor Vona, who told the newly convicted representative that the black mark he received today will be his passport to building the democratic Hungary of the future, for which he congratulated him.
Guys, if you are building the Hungary of the future, then tell me now, I'll take my passport and go to Argentina, I wanted to go to the Boca Juniors-River Plate rally for a long time anyway.
And here's a reminder of what they did:
