The large-scale participation in the national consultations strengthens Hungarian sovereignty, said Balázs Hidvéghi, the parliamentary state secretary of the Prime Minister's Cabinet Office, in a video message published on the government's Facebook page on Sunday.

The large-scale participation gives the government help and strength to successfully represent Hungarian independence, so that we ourselves can decide on matters important to us, he added.

"Brussels has tried to force its position on us on many issues in recent years. The latest such decision now affects the economy. Brussels wants an economic cold war and wants to dictate who we can trade with and who we can't trade with," Hidvéghi pointed out, who also pointed out:

this harms Hungary's interests.

"It's good for us if we can trade freely with both the West and the East, because that way we can achieve economic growth higher than the EU average," he added.

Balázs Hidvéghi emphasized: the economy is not an ideological issue, neutrality is necessary in the economy.

In the national consultation, people's opinions will be asked about the family tax allowance and the 13th month pension.

Brussels wants to deal with population and labor market problems with one thing, mass immigration, the politician pointed out, and then stated:

"However, we should think that it is not immigrants who are needed, but support for Hungarian families raising children," he said, indicating that this is why they want to double the tax allowance for children in two steps in the next period.

Brussels constantly attacks the 13th month pension and demands that the Hungarian government abolish it. We, on the other hand, believe that the 13th monthly pension should not be abolished, but on the contrary, made permanent, thus helping our elderly compatriots.

In the soon-to-be-launched national consultation, everyone can express their opinion on these issues as well, he said.
