Hungary, Slovakia and Serbia fight together against migration

Slovak Prime Minister Robert Fico, Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orbán and Serbian President Aleksandar Vučić met on Tuesday in the castle of Révkomárom. Among the topics of the meeting were the prevention of illegal migration, the protection of the external borders of the Union and regional cooperation.

At the press conference following the hearing behind closed doors, the host Robert Fico talked about the fact that they had a friendly meeting, the main topic of which was illegal migration. The head of the Slovak government stated that the essence of Tuesday's meeting was: "we were right".

"We were right when we said at the beginning of the great migration crisis that the most important part of the action against illegal migration is protecting the borders."

The EU does not need mandatory quotas and the distribution of migrants, he added. Fico thanked the Serbian president for protecting the borders during the migration crisis. The Slovak Prime Minister announced that Serbia should join the EU as soon as possible. Similarly, he thanked the Hungarian Prime Minister for taking decisive action against illegal migration.

Aleksandar Vucic spoke about how the results were achieved through joint work:

this year, the number of illegal migrants decreased by 80 percent. The Serbian head of state expressed his joy that Fico is in good condition after the May 15 attack.

Viktor Orbán began by saying that we were shocked to learn of the assassination attempt on Fico and experienced it as a loss in Hungary. "I have never seen such pro-Slovak manifestations as then and now

the two peoples are closer to each other than in the previous 100 years"

he added.

The Hungarian Prime Minister talked about the fact that if we let millions of people in without a permit, it will be a problem. Hungary is not responsible for the migration situation: since 2015, 8 million asylum applications have been submitted, and there have been 3.8 million illegal border crossing attempts,

Hungary alone arrested one million people

- he drew attention, and also added that Brussels is unable to deport illegal migrants.

There is panic in the West about migration

Western leaders are panicking about illegal migration, said Viktor Orbán. The Hungarian Prime Minister emphasized that panic only leads to bad decisions, such as the suspension of Schengen and the reinstatement of border controls, so illegal migration actually destroys the greatest achievement of the European Union, free movement across borders.

It was foreseeable that crime would increase, and the migration pact would not solve the problem, but would exacerbate the problem, so this pact is the problem itself - stated Viktor Orbán, who says that only the Hungarian model works against illegal migration. migrants can only enter the territory of our country if they have received a positive assessment.
