HUF 1.7 billion were distributed.

Since the start of the Village Civil Fund in 2020, almost five hundred winning tenders for volunteer firefighting associations have been announced across the country, worth HUF 1.7 billion, of which sixty volunteer firefighting associations in Vas county received a total of HUF 221 million in tender support, announced Alpár Gyopáros, the modern settlements the government commissioner responsible for its development took part in a ceremony on Saturday in Kondorfa, Vas county, where a renovated, more modern than the previous fire truck was handed over.

Alpár Gyopáros highlighted:

the main goal of the Hungarian village program was to stop the depopulation of small settlements, with improvements that improved the quality of life, a positive demographic change was achieved in many places, but according to his words, fixing the roads, sidewalks, and raising buildings would not have been enough on their own.

In order to maintain the population of the villages, it is necessary to preserve and nurture the culture and traditions, as well as active civil communities, such as the volunteer firefighting associations that have a long history in many places, similar to the one in Kondorfa, and are the engines of local development, added the government commissioner.

The Kondorfa Volunteer Fire Association was founded in 1893 and currently operates with 15 active and six honorary members. The Steyr type fire engine vehicle handed over on Saturday came from Lainbach, Austria, and is better equipped than its predecessor; among other things, it has a high-performance aggregator, a smoke extraction system and a so-called light tower.
