The Ecumenical Aid Organization announces a solidarity action to help the victims of the floods in Spain; donations are welcome on the segelyszervezt.hu website - the charitable organization told MTI on Saturday.
According to the statement, the flash floods that hit Spain's Mediterranean coast caused serious damage after several months' worth of rainfall fell in twenty-four hours in the eastern and southeastern parts of the country.

It was highlighted that the Ecumenical Relief Organization expresses its solidarity with those in trouble and those who help them on the spot, in a superhuman struggle, and starts a collection to support the communities affected by the time of judgment.
The aid organization calls on its donors, if they wish to join the solidarity action, to express their solidarity with the victims of the disaster by bank card at www.segelyszervezt.hu or by bank transfer to account number 11705008-20464565 with the designation "Spain", the announcement states.
Tristan Azbej said: they were shocked to learn about the consequences of the devastating disaster in the southeastern part of Spain, especially in Valencia and its surroundings.
He pointed out: the number of victims of the tragedy has already risen to over 200 people, they are searching for the missing people with great efforts, and it is difficult to even estimate the material damage.
He added: Following the decision of Foreign Minister Péter Szijjártó, the Hungarian government expresses its solidarity with those in need through the Hungary Helps Program.
"In response to the request for help forwarded by the Spanish party Vox, we offer a total of 20,000 euros of emergency aid to the province of Valencia, as well as funding for the dispatch of a Hungarian volunteer search and rescue team"

He added:
"We hope that with this support we can contribute to saving lives and mitigating damage. Our Spanish friends can count on us. Hungary helps!"
