The Union of Transport Workers of Hungary (KDMU) was established with the participation of five transport unions, and the parties signed the relevant statutes on Monday, one of the founders, the Union of Railways, told MTI.

According to the information, with the agreement, a unified representation of the interests of transport workers can be realized, the purpose of which is to represent the interests of the workers, to improve their economic and social situation, as well as joint action in the upcoming wage negotiations.

The cooperation was also justified by the transport crisis prevailing in Hungary, the development of the sector and meeting the challenges of the world.

- quoted János Meleg, president of the Railways Union, in the announcement.

He told me that

the members of the KDMU demand that they be able to comment in advance on the draft legislation affecting the workers in the sector, as well as on other rules regarding the employment relationship.

Any trade union operating in the field of transport can join the interest representation, he added.

The founders of the KDMU are: the Independent HÉV Trade Union, the HÉV Workers' Union, the Community Transport Trade Union - the Unified Transport Trade Union, the Railway Workers' Trade Union and the Railway Workers' Trade Union.
