the most important will be the issue of EU competitiveness, writes the official website .
Most recently, the heads of state and government of the EU member states met in Brussels in mid-October. Today's informal meeting of the European Council will take place after the fifth meeting of the European Political Community.
EU leaders will discuss a new deal on Europe's competitiveness, which aims to make the EU future-proof and more self-reliant in line with previous commitments made in the Versailles and Granada Declarations and the 2024-2029 Strategic Agenda.
Based on Enrico Letta's Much more than a market and Mario Draghi's The Future of European Competitiveness reports, the EU leaders will also discuss the issues of innovation and productivity gaps, measures aimed at strengthening the single market in the short and medium term, the renewal of European industry, energy independence and climate neutrality.
