Varnus Xavér spoke again about the case involving him, related to the abuse of minors. The musician announced on his social media page that he would also report Angéla Füssy and Dóra Dúró, who wrote the article about it. In an open letter, the Mi Hazánk politician asked the Academy of Music to cancel Varnus' performance.
As we reported , an article about Varnus Xavér was recently published, in which he was accused of abusing juvenile boys. The victims told everything about what happened to them, two of them how their whole lives were ruined by the organist, with whom they were in contact as an idol, a role model, and who then corrupted them, used them as sexual toys and tools. The youngest of them was barely 14 years old. He claimed to be a journalist for HVG, not now, 7 years ago, but the articles he wrote could never be published. The HVG could have stopped the sexual exploitation of juvenile boys 7 years ago, but everything was kept quiet, even though they even made a statement to Varnus, who responded by saying that since the boys were over the age of consent, what happened is a quasi-private matter, because it is not a crime, it is not pedophilia .
The organist therefore denies the accusations. According to Varnus, the article is full of slips and false information. The police are currently investigating the case, and several witnesses have already been questioned.
Several of the organist's performances were cancelled, one of which is believed to be because Dóra Dúró asked the Academy of Music to do so in an open letter. That is why Varnus has now shared a long statement on his social media page, in which he described that he never committed a crime related to pedophilia and that it was only a matter of political character assassination. As he wrote, he is reporting the people involved because of the slanders, the Mandiner .
Varnus Xavér's announcement is published unchanged:
"Dóra Dúró, the member of parliament of Mi Hazánk, severely defamed me in her public Facebook post when she called me a 'pedophile predator'. I deeply condemn pedophilia, which is a serious crime, as do all normal people in the world. In my sixty years, I have never committed any kind of pedophile crime, no one has ever reported me for this, and no official procedure related to pedophile has taken place, and as far as I know, it is not taking place against me, anywhere in the world. Dóra Dúró defamed me following a false article by Mi Hazánk propagandist Angéla Füssy, even though Füssy stated to Telex after the publication of her article that she was aware that I had not committed any crime. Therefore, today I reported Dóra Dúró, Angéla Füssy, Andor Bánsági and those who spread their slanders for nefarious reasons, for defamation in front of the public, causing significant harm to interests. I hope that Dóra Dúró will not be able to hide behind her immunity and continue her slanderous hunt for likes and votes from there.
Finally, the Jewish Community of Debrecen canceled my November charity concert following the far-right Angéla Füssy's article mentioning my name and lacking any substantiated accusations or evidence. In other words, he did all of this under the pressure of the neo-Nazi party, whose spiritual predecessors once shot the Jews of Pest into the Danube. It fills me with great sadness that three days ago, as a result of the intimidation of the extreme right, the Academy of Music also canceled my sold-out concerts in December, causing a huge financial and prestige loss to itself and disappointment to the music-loving public.
It is horrible that the unbridled pressure and spiritual terror of the extreme right can evoke the worst period of emergency in 2024 in Hungary. What they are doing has nothing to do with child protection, it is just a tool of violent politics, so that they can once again reach the threshold of entering the parliament with their tens of thousands of extremist hate, and terrorize Hungary's LGBTQ and Jewish minorities again. Even at the cost of confusing homosexuality with pe:dophilia in a repulsive way, dragging respectable people with baseless accusations, ruining their lives and private lives. Thomas Mann in the 1930s in 'Achtung, Europa!' ('Europe, beware!') drew attention to the enormous danger of Nazism spreading like the plague. The warning has never been more timely than in 2024: Hungary, beware.”
