The people of Dunaszerda united to help their sister settlement, Beregszász.

He is organizing a fundraiser to help the town of Dunaszerdahely in the highlands, the Pázmaneum Társulás and the Dunaszerdahely Parish Caritász Subcarpathia. Beregszász asked for office and school supplies for his students.

This is not the first time that Dunaszerdahely has helped its sister city. One month after the outbreak of the Russian-Ukrainian war, four truckloads of donations were delivered to the office of Mayor Zoltán Babják.

Later, we helped the Beregsász hospital with financial donations.

The contribution was received by the mayor of Beregszasz during a charity concert - reminded the deputy mayor of Dunaszerdahely, Attila Karaffa.

Dr. Mayor Zoltán Hájos considers continuous contact and assistance with sister settlements to be extremely important, which is why they look for the opportunity to help them and listen to their requests. They are now collecting school supplies and office supplies, with which they make life easier for the educational institutions of the Transcarpathian city, and at the same time, they are waiting for donations to a special account number set aside for this purpose, from which they will also buy the requested school supplies and office supplies. The people of Dunaszerda and the surrounding area have proven on several occasions that they are happy to get involved in charity initiatives, and this is still the case now, as several donations have already arrived.

At the Gyula Szabó Primary School, under the leadership of principal Árpád Nagy and teacher Ágnes Molnár, a school bag and school supplies for a van were collected in a few days. The separate donation account has already received more than a thousand euros. The collection was originally announced until the end of October, but due to the great interest, the deadline was extended by one month, so you can contribute to the sister city with material and financial donations until the end of November. Dunaszerdahely delivers the collected donations directly to Beregszász.

Local government representative György Bugár, head of the charity, regularly collects donations at the collection point of the Dunaszerdahely Plébániai Charity.

According to him, the residents are constantly coming to them, among them are returnees, but also those whom they did not even know.

The charity also received school and office supplies during the collection in September, which this time were not distributed to the needy, but added to the collection in Beregsász.

There are also those who do not bring in used goods, but buy new ones. Around 20 have been collected from school bags so far, several cartons of colored pencils and notebooks have been brought

added the charity leader.

As a pensioner, I can't contribute a large amount to the collection, but if I hear about this or a similar call, I always try to help with something. After the war, when I was still a child, I learned what deprivation is, so I know that all help is useful at such times

said an old lady at the collection point.

Donations are therefore expected until November 30 at the following collection points:
