The prosecutor's office confirmed that the investigation is ongoing due to human trafficking.
Márk Lakatos was suspected of the crime in October. By the end of the month, it turned out that the police were already investigating, but it was not clarified for what exact category of crime.
Now the Magyar Nemzet has learned from the prosecutor's office acting in the case that
the investigation into the scandal of Márk Lakatos is being carried out on suspicion of the crime of human trafficking.
According to the prosecutor's office, the case is in the investigation phase, and the suspects have not yet been questioned by the investigators, however, according to Magyar Nemzet, witnesses have already been questioned by the police. All of this can be interesting from the point of view that the journalist who broke the case, Róbert Ábrahám, previously claimed that there is a queue of celebrities who want to talk about what happened.
You could go to jail for it
The Hungarian Nation also reminded that trafficking in human beings is committed by anyone who sells, buys, trades, hands over or accepts as compensation, or transports, shelters, hides, or acquires another for the purpose of exploitation.
"All of this is usually only punishable by a few years' imprisonment. However, it is important to note that in the Lakatos case there may be a qualified case of this, since the alleged victim was not yet eighteen years old, so the perpetrators may receive up to ten years
the newspaper wrote.
On Róbert Ábrahám's show, a former boy from the institute claimed that years ago, when he was only 15 years old, the stylist had sex with Márk Lakatos. The boy also talked about the fact that there was a special person in order to search for young heterosexual boys in the orphanages, who because of their poverty could be bought for homosexual relationships, and the selected children were delivered by the fencer and handed over to his clients, after which he received a commission.
According to her, they also gave her drugs before the "handover", and then she had to do things in the apartment with Márk Lakatos out of fear that she did not want. The boy in state care is said to have received a pair of shoes and money for all this. The victim's video testimony - accompanied by a report - was delivered to the Capital Prosecutor's Office. From there, the report was sent to the Budapest Police Headquarters, and the BRFK ordered an investigation that day.
The hearing of the witnesses in the case is ongoing, according to information from Magyar Nemzet. As they wrote, Róbert Ábrahám, the alleged victim and his tutor, another tutor, and "a man currently in prison who is being prosecuted in another case" were heard by the investigators as witnesses.
