The 99 Movement supporting Gergely Karácsony now supports a new messiah.
Supporters of the Christmas 99 Movement appear behind Péter Magyar. The website of the organization no longer works and their Facebook page has not been updated for years, but the founders of the movement did not disappear, but stood behind the new leader of the opposition.
The 99 Movement served Gergely Karácsony's campaign for prime minister, the organization came into the spotlight when the report of the National Information Center was declassified.
The report revealed that Gábor Perjés, who was in charge of the movement's financial affairs, paid more than HUF 500 million in cash on several occasions, and, contrary to Gergely Karácsony's claim, it was not just small donations from Hungary.
Although the website of the organization is no longer accessible, and its Facebook page has not been updated for years, it seems that the founders of the movement (unlike the page) did not disappear, but appeared, namely around Péter Magyar.
For example, Erzsébet Pusztai, the former left-wing state secretary of health, recently spoke about their readiness to cooperate with Péter Magyar.
