He drinks wine and preaches water: while the capital led by Gergely Karácsony failed and criticized the people living on the Római coast, his protégé Ambrus Kiss himself lives in a property classified as a resort, of course behind a dam built by the government.
The veil has fallen on the hypocrisy of Mayor Gergely Karácsony's right-hand man. Since 2019, the left-liberal capital city government has been continuously trying to make it impossible for a mobile dam to be built on the Római coast.
All of this is justified by the fact that, according to their opinion, the Római coast is a floodplain, and no one should be allowed to live in the properties located there. Meanwhile, in the past decades, residential parks consisting of properties classified as social resorts have mushroomed in the area.
Ambrus Kiss, the director general of the Mayor's Office, lives in such a luxury residential park right next to the Danube bank, just a minute's drive from the Római bank.
Of course, the politician does not live in an area threatened by flooding, but in a section protected by the Pünkösdfürdő dam built as a result of the work of the government and former mayor István Tarlós.
The Magyar Nemzet also obtained the title deed confirming this claim.
Meanwhile, since 2019, the municipal government of the capital known as Kiss Ambrus has come up with amazing ideas, essentially to make the construction of the mobile dam on the Roman coast impossible.
Gergely Karácsony and his party have been creating hysteria for more than a decade about the mobile dam to be built on Budapest's Rómaibank.
However, with the election of the politician in 2019, the communication battle became a brutal reality for those who built closer to the river bank at the Nánási út-Királyok útja section. In 2023, when Ambrus Kiss was general deputy mayor, the capital led by Gergely Karácsony reclassified the area as a tidal zone, and the people living here do not receive any help from the capital to protect themselves against tidal waves.
