Recitations and illustrations in the spirit of Sándor Kányádi

Organized by the Faculty of Pedagogy of the Károl Gáspár Reformed University, a Sándor Kányádi poetry recitation and verse illustration competition will be held at the Faculty's training site in Budapest this Saturday for students of higher education institutions in Hungary and the Carpathian Basin. Non-Hungarian speaking students who study Hungarian as a foreign language can enter the poetry competition in a separate category. The purpose of the event is to preserve the ideological legacy of Sándor Kányádi in addition to nurturing culture and tradition.

The founder of the competition is the Pedagogical Faculty of the Károli Gáspár Reformed University with the supportive consent of the Kányád family.

Under the leadership of Dean Ferenc Pap, Deputy Dean Etelka Tóth and Head of Department Ildikó Somodi, the department's organizing and teaching team worked hard to make the competition worthy of the spirit of Sándor Kányádi. Last year, the competition was held online, but this year it will be held in person and online. More than 80 people applied. Of these, 32 are poets, including young people from Transylvania and the Highlands. Students studying Hungarian as a foreign language also applied from China, India and France. Among the competitors are kindergarten teachers, teachers, teachers, early childhood educators, special education teachers, psychology majors, interpreters and translators, mechanical engineers, IT students, trade and marketing majors - said Judit Havas, Doctor of Literature, the main patron of the competition on behalf of the Kányád family.

The National Anthem and Szózat recitation competition shapes our attachment to our culture along the lines of true values.

The artists could use techniques appropriate to the genre of the illustration, graphics, painting or mixed techniques. Judit Havas is the president of the jury for the recitation competition, and ceramic sculptor Judit Józsa is also judging the illustrations.

The works received will be exhibited and the best creators will be awarded at the award ceremony. The best illustrations are also published in an e-book. The participants of the poetry recitation competition will also receive a valuable reward.
