Based on the decision of the Ministry of Construction and Transport, MÁV employees participating in flood defense will receive a one-time monetary recognition of two hundred thousand forints with a SZÉP card, the railway company announced on its website.

According to the information, the affected workers will receive the benefits next week.

At the MÁV group, 332 employees worked directly in field flood protection or managed field protection on site.

It was written that due to the flooding of the Danube in September, the railway embankment along the Komárom-Esztergom line, the Tát waterworks and the HÉV tunnel affecting the Danube section of the H5 had to be protected.

The government decision announced on October 22 stipulates the recognition of the service of those who took part in flood protection on the Hungarian section of the Danube, they said.
