At the last session of the Capital Assembly this year, the veil was finally lifted from the Tisza Party: Péter Magyar's representatives voted for the capital's illegal budget, which includes, among other things, open tax evasion.

The entire left-wing rainbow coalition supported the mayor's bankruptcy budget at Wednesday's meeting of the Capital Assembly, where the representatives had to decide on a draft budget, according to which the capital will pay only a part of the solidarity contribution.

The capital city bases this plan on the decision of the Constitutional Court, according to which municipalities can be taxed as much as the maximum amount of support they receive from the state.

However, in the package of proposals on the budget, the representatives also had to decide on a much more serious issue. And this is the acceptance of the current account credit limit of the capital municipality. The left-wing rainbow coalition of the Capital Assembly supported the fact that the capital would be able to operate from a HUF 60 billion credit line in 2025. According to the document attached to the proposal, the capital would draw HUF 40 billion from the 60 billion credit line from January 2 to February 28.

In other words, Budapest will operate on credit in the first two months of the year.

In connection with the adoption of the budget, Gergely Karácsony threatened the representatives in the assembly that if the capital pays the tax allocated by the government, they will not be able to bring lunch to the schools, and they will also be unable to take care of the people living in nursing homes. The mayor of Budapest claimed that the capital must choose between taxation and the maintenance of basic services.

Gergely Karácsony did not talk about the scandalous management of the capital municipality, instead he scolded the representatives and Budapest residents by saying that if Budapest pays the taxes imposed on it, trams 4 and 6 will run every ten minutes instead of every two minutes, there will be no money for wage increases and the needy do not receive utility bills either.

The left-wing majority of the Metropolitan Assembly finally voted for Gergely Karácsony's bankruptcy budget. In other words, the representatives of the rainbow coalition declared that Budapest will not pay the amount of social contribution imposed on it next year. All this was done despite the fact that Mayor Sára Botond warned the capital several times that voting for such a budget could have serious consequences.

Gergely Karácsony's social media presence was also discussed at the general meeting. Member of the Podmaniczky faction, based on the proposal of József Gál

it was forbidden for Gergely Karácsony to pay for the ads on his Facebook page with the capital's money.

In recent years, especially during campaign periods, the mayor presented the results achieved in recent years via his official social media page. The mayor tried to increase the reach of these posts as much as possible with various advertisements. However, it is clear from the public information available on Facebook that these ads were financed by the Budapest municipality.

All this happened despite the fact that Gergely Karácsony devoted an entire chapter to transparency in his 2019 campaign,

of which there is no trace in the case of his own social media page. However, according to the current decision of the Capital Assembly, this will fundamentally change, as the representatives supported the proposal prohibiting the financing of advertisements.
