The Russian president did not reject the motion.
Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orbán recently proposed a Christmas ceasefire and a prisoner exchange in Ukraine, which I did not reject, said Russian President Vladimir Putin at his four-and-a-half-hour annual press conference in Moscow on Thursday.
"As far as short-term ceasefires are concerned, the Prime Minister of Hungary, Mr. Orbán, approached me with this proposal. I don't think Viktor will be angry with me if I make part of our conversation public. He says, »What will this cost you? Declare a Christmas truce for a day or two. The enemy will not be able to do anything during these two or three days,'' Putin said.
The Russian president said that he did not reject the proposal and proposed that the other party be asked as well, which, however, categorically rejected all of this.
At the same time, Matteo Salvini called Viktor Orbán's ceasefire proposal "brave and feasible" in Brussels on Thursday. The leader of the Italian League party said: They discussed the war in Ukraine with Orbán and other leaders of the right-wing European Parliament faction.
