According to the announcement
passengers with the appropriate pass can take one bicycle or one dog on the flights at the same time, if they travel with several bicycles or dogs, the usual tickets for those must still be purchased.
They called it important that the usual travel rules do not change, they are still maintained so that their passengers are not inconvenienced by an improperly transported bicycle or dog.
It was also reported that
When traveling outside the administrative boundaries of Budapest, the necessary bicycle or dog tickets must still be exchanged,
however, since the spring tariff reform, buying tickets has become more favorable, simpler and more convenient for most passengers. From March of this year, the local bicycle and dog ticket will cost HUF 500, they added.
Members of the Hungarian Cycling Club and START Klub card holders can take their bicycles on the trains for HUF 375. With a monthly bicycle national pass for HUF 4,950 (with a seat change if necessary), and with a dog national pass for HUF 1,890, you can travel unlimited bicycles or dogs on almost all MÁV-Start, GYSEV and HÉV flights, subject to the transport conditions of the service providers, while on Volán flights only the dog national pass valid - they explained.
Since November, small- and medium-sized dogs (not heavier than 20 kilograms) can be transported in the second class of all trains without a closed box, using only a leash and a muzzle.
At the same time, for the safety of the other passengers, neither the leash nor the muzzle must be removed from the dog during the journey, and at the ticket inspector's request, the animal's valid vaccination certificate - not older than 1 year - must be presented, as well as a dog ticket or dog country pass must be changed, the announcement states.
