Last November, the CÖF Club Miskolc launched a new series of programs entitled Local Patriotic Club on the Streets of Miskolc, the next guest of which is painter Ágnes Máger, Honorary Citizen of the City of Miskolc, who has been enhancing and enriching the cultural values of our country, including Miskolc, with her talent and artistic works for decades.

Ágnes Máger was born in Szombathely, she graduated from the College of Fine Arts in 1971, majoring in painting, where her masters were Simon Sarkantyú and Endre Domanovszky. After finishing college, she settled in Miskolc with her husband, art historian Prof. Dr. Lajos Végvári.

From the early years, in 1971, he was a regular exhibitor and participant in individual and group exhibitions.

He is a versatile artist who is also humble in his talent. In addition to painting, graphics and small plastic works, the set and costume designs created for the National Theater of Miskolc and the Csodamal Puppet Theater are a special highlight of his oeuvre.

His works can be found in the Aquarell Museum in London, as well as in Germany, Switzerland, Poland, Slovakia, the Hungarian National Gallery and, of course, in the Herman Ottó Museum in Miskolc.

"Even in its diversity, Ágnes Máger's painting is uniform, its cohesive force lies in its spirituality. The key scenes of Hungarian history, the altarpieces, the natural beauty of the landscape and nature dissolve in transcendence, the majestic celestial events take physical form. Ágnes Máger's magical brush elevates the material into the immaterial." /writer Anna Jókai/

We cordially invite all interested parties to the event!
