The Hungarian-owned Neumann Labs diagnostic laboratory showed the presence of ten to twenty times more viruses in the bodies of those infected with the British variant of the coronavirus than in the case of those infected with the original virus. This may also be the reason why, in the third wave, many more infected people are identified every day and there are more deaths than before.
The laboratory's experts found that the British version was already present in 95 percent of the 3,000 daily tests performed. At the same time, it is also a fact that much more, on average, 15 times as many viruses were found in these samples as in the case of the previous, first and second wave of Wuhan infections.
Miklós Nyíri, managing director of Neumann Labs, said that it cannot be ruled out that the British variant is roughly 50 percent more contagious because patients simply produce more virus, so they can transmit it more easily.
