Hungary and Poland are turning to the European Court of Justice, Justice Minister Judit Varga announced on her Facebook page.

He commented on the decision as follows:

"The left went too far when it launched an attack on Hungary in the middle of the epidemic.
We repelled this attack and managed to protect Hungarian interests in the EU budget.
However, we cannot ignore what is illegal!
We cannot allow EU legislation that seriously violates legal certainty to remain in force, so as we promised last year, together with Poland, we are challenging the conditionality regulation before the Court of Justice of the European Union today.
Let common sense win again!"

Hungary's move is not surprising, since we already indicated before the vote on the EU budget and joint borrowing that it was unacceptable to tie the payments due to the member states to confusing, even arbitrarily used, rule of law requirements.
