There are phrases, but no content. There is not a single creative proposal, a bit of innovation, a Hungarian solution to a Hungarian problem in the party of qualified young intellectuals. There is only the monkeying around of "the West", a mash-up of the names of foreign systems and methods believed to be good, without domestic context and ideological foundation. There are phrases, no content, and young people should be fans of all of this. Don't do it. Hungarian youth deserve more than activism imports. We looked at Mátyás Kohán's writing about his own generation on Mandiner.

At the beginning of 2017, the NOlimpia campaign ran, a group of previously unknown young people chased the dream of the 2024 Budapest Olympics - because of this, many people started to love them very much, others really hated them.

From then on, it was possible to measure the party to some extent. They slowly built themselves up, founded one basic organization after another, and spread the Narrative around them with both hands. New faces, a new Hungary, a new political generation, dynamic, talented young people educated in the West, who stir up the domestic political mess, activate the apolitical under-30s, and obey the Fidesz in Pökhend without being too hard on themselves.

Then, that same year, the author of the article was brought to California by the Creator, and he was lucky enough to get to know his generation from a new angle. Out there, he met dozens of the type of people whose sight and hearing still give him the chills: the upper-middle-class activist in his 10s and 20s, who knows nothing about the world beyond the tip of his nose, but his political views are extremely determined.

“A militant atheist or, at worst, a pseudo-Christian; all he knows about the world wars is that the Jews died there; women's rights bring to mind quotas on the one hand, and feticide on the other; he sees racial, gender, and religious class struggle on every Arctic maidenhair tree; imagines fashionable mental illnesses; and although his foreign language skills do not extend beyond some Spanish slang (hola, nada, gracias, vamos), he knows exactly what to do in Russia, Palestine, Iran, Hungary, and the Roman Catholic Mother Church. It's typically the same everywhere: power for women, money for people of color, gay rights, change of government, free press, that's it."

And it happened in January 2018, writes the author, that András Fekete-Győr, who studied in Heidelberg, went to Vienna to build a relationship with the local liberal party, NEOS, and then delivered such an unqualified moan under the heading of a speech in German that I was speechless. I also attended a Hungarian-German bilingual school, like Fekete-Győr, I also lived abroad, I know what the level is - well, not this one. It's not enough that he didn't say anything, but even that he said it shamefully wrong. In 2019, when two high-ranking ladies of Momentum entered the European Parliament, I experienced something similar in connection with the English-language appearances of Anna Donáth, who graduated in the Netherlands, and things started to get a little suspicious. Could it be that the momentous ones were out in the West, but apart from a few pretty autobiographical entries, they didn't bring home anything under the blue sky? Could it be that California's army of do-nothing activists and Momentum are actually one and the same? Could it be that they are not actually talented at all?”

"In the summer of 2019, I was working at a resort in Balaton and an older colleague and I were talking about politics. I learned that you voted for Momentum in 2018. They're young, they haven't stolen yet, let them have a chance! Katka Cseh learned her stick mixer pronunciation from me. He was a little saddened by it. He felt as if he had been hanged in the stomach.

Something like this could be the essence of Momentum. A big belly-hanging, defense and defiance alliance of young people who sell themselves as smart and educated.

They are the opium of the youth, nothing else, and as things stand in 2021, Momentum is even a gateway drug to the absorption of Gyurcsányism."

There is a better solution than the party that has been doing nothing else since the announcement of the joint list, only trying to make Ferenc Gyurcsány digestible for young voters.
