It is not new that some people want to flood Europe with immigrants. But the fact that the human rights commissioner of the Council of Europe openly urges to understand the law goes beyond common sense. Fidesz called on the European Commission in the matter.

Dunja Mijatovic, the Human Rights Commissioner of the Council of Europe, encourages an open violation of the law when she makes statements that the ships of non-governmental organizations carrying out rescues at sea can put ashore illegal migrants collected in the Mediterranean despite the will of the member states, citing human rights considerations, Balázs Hidvéghi said. , Fidesz's representative in the European Parliament (EP), in his statement to MTI on Tuesday.

The representative added that the European Parliament delegation of Fidesz asked Ylva Johansson, the Commissioner for Home Affairs of the European Commission, in a letter to take a position on the "activities of migrant transport ships of NGOs that deliberately break the law".

As he wrote, the inquiry was justified by the March 15 meeting of the Committee on Civil Rights, Internal Affairs and Justice (LIBE), in the framework of which the representatives exchanged views on the rescue operations taking place in the Mediterranean Sea with the Council of Europe Commissioner for Human Rights.

"It is not new that some people want to flood Europe with immigrants. But the fact that the human rights commissioner of the Council of Europe openly urges to understand the law goes beyond common sense. We call on the European Commission to clearly state its position regarding the scandalous statement and illegal migration!" Balázs Hidvéghi added.
