The number of vaccinated people may soon reach two and a half million in Hungary, which will allow life to slowly and gradually return to the old way of life. We show you exactly what rules will change as a result of the first phase of the reopening.

The following rules will change when 2.5 million people have been vaccinated:

The curfew is changed to the period between 10 pm and 5 am.

Shops may be open between 5:00 a.m. and 9:30 p.m.

Shops, including those that have been closed since March 8, may be open according to new, square meter-based rules. On average, there can be one customer per 10 square meters in the store according to the new regulations.

Temporary protection measures related to services will be lifted, allowing hairdressers, beauticians and other service providers to open.

At the same time, the catering shops cannot open in normal operation, only the employees can stay in these units. Guests are only allowed to enter the restaurants for the time required to issue and deliver takeaway food.

Hotels are still not allowed to receive guests.

The regulations on the mitigations were published earlier, giving the companies enough time to prepare.

After the vaccination of the teachers, schools and kindergartens will start again on April 19.

In the week ending April 13, the number of people vaccinated may reach three million, and a week later 3.5 million. After that, there may be further relaxations, but the prime minister will report on this in the following interview on Friday, he said in Kossuth Rádió's Good Morning, Hungary program.

The Prime Minister said that it will be two to three weeks until we reach the point where the vaccines have an effect in the infection and death data.
