The government is announcing four new tenders to support small-scale village developments; among other things, it will be possible to apply for the construction of sidewalks, the purchase of medical equipment, communal equipment, and the purchase of farm and village caretaker buses - announced Alpár Gyopáros, the government commissioner responsible for the development of modern settlements, on Saturday in Csény, Vas county, where he handed over seven new village caretaker vehicles to the mayors and village caretakers of the surrounding settlements.

He said that the combined budget of the four tenders is HUF 7.5 billion, the details of the call for tenders will be available on the portal.hu from Monday, and the conditions are similar to those of previous years. He added that the applications can be submitted between May 12 and June 11, sixty days are available for evaluation, but according to experience so far, the result can be announced in 40-45 days.

Speaking about the details, the government commissioner said: according to their calculations, there could be a total of a thousand winning applicants for the four tenders. According to his presentation, a budget of HUF 1 billion is available for municipal pavement construction and renovation, settlements with less than five thousand people can apply, and one applicant can request a subsidy of HUF 5 million.

HUF 500 million is available for the purchase of medical equipment, in the case of operating clinics, applications can be made, a total of HUF 2 million support can be requested for one tender, he said. A budget of HUF 3 billion is available for the purchase of equipment used for communal equipment, such as maintenance of public areas, and for the purchase of machinery, the upper limit of which can be requested is HUF 15 million, he added.

A total of HUF 3 billion is also available for the purchase of farm and village management buses, the upper limit of the requested support is HUF 15 million, he said. Alpár Gyopáros highlighted: since the start of the Hungarian village program in 2019, the Prime Minister's Office has supported more than twelve thousand winning applications worth more than HUF 130 billion.

He also spoke about the fact that, since the start of the village council in July 2019, almost 18,000 families living in small settlements have applied for non-refundable support, totaling HUF 95 billion.

Péter Ágh (Fidesz), the region's parliamentary representative, said at the press conference: in the Magyar Falu program, the applicants in his electoral district – in the northern part of Vas County – received a total of HUF 2 billion 618 million in support for 218 winning applications.

Csénye, which has a population of 720, received HUF 49 million in tender grants within the framework of the last two Hungarian Villages programs, which were used, among other things, for the purchase of a bus for the village caretaker, the tidying up of the kindergarten yard, and tools to help maintain public areas.

As part of the press conference, the village guardian buses of seven settlements, Peresznye, Perenye, Vát, Csénye, Sajtoskál, Bő and Kemenesmihályfa, were handed over - he listed.
