In six large areas, open calls for tenders for the support of Hungarians living abroad will be published in the framework of the National Restart Program I, which will be launched in 2021, as part of the national restart year. János Árpád Potápi, the State Secretary of the Prime Minister's Office responsible for national policy, informed the press about the details, through him the social, civil, church and youth organizations of the Carpathian basin and the diaspora.
János Árpád Potápi mentioned that since 2011 thousands of applications have been sent to the State Secretariat for National Policy of the Prime Minister's Office every year. It can be said that there are few settlements inhabited by Hungarians in the Carpathian Basin that the Hungarian government did not support in some way, either the local governments or the educational, church or civil organizations operating in their territory.
This year, the grants were divided into two parts. In the first half of the year, the goal is to help with developments and renovations, while in the second half of the year, it is for programs. This year, each month had a central theme: January was sports, February was children's health, March was community, and April was the month of learning. It is hoped that once the vaccinations are taken, the epidemic will end and the programs can be resumed.
The first call for tenders will be published on April 15, for which they can allocate one and a half billion forints, within which individual organizations can apply for non-refundable grants of from three hundred thousand to five million forints.
It is important to know that applications can be submitted until May 14 at 12:00 (Central European time). The implementation period will be between January 1 and December 31. The conditions and details can be read on the website of Külhoni Magyarok and BGA Zrt.
