The Presidium of the Synod of the Hungarian Reformed Church asks the congregations to open the Reformed churches on May 2.

In Wednesday's decision, the presidential council requests the opening of churches on May 2 from all congregations of the church "in view of the improving epidemic situation and the increasing number of vaccinations." "We have been closed for a long time, many of us are already waiting for the moment when we can meet again in our communities," they said.

At the same time, they draw the attention of church members to the fact that "the epidemic is still with us".

The Presidency Council requests that the opening be carried out "sanely, judiciously, with strict adherence to all epidemiological measures" and gradually.

They also warn that long congregational singing increases the risk of infection.

Public services in Reformed churches have been suspended since March 8 due to the coronavirus epidemic.
