Participants in the "From Public Employment to the Private Sector" program starting today can even triple their earnings from the resources of the Economic Protection Fund, said Sándor Bodó. The Secretary of State responsible for employment policy of the Ministry of Innovation and Technology (ITM) added: this time, the HUF 500,000 budget can contribute to the placement of 1-2 thousand public employees in the primary labor market.

The sooner someone leaves public employment, the more support they can get, as they will receive HUF 45,600 per month retroactively for the remaining time. Public employees doing seasonal agricultural work can also receive a placement allowance, 2,000 HUF per day, or up to 62,000 HUF for a month.

The net earnings of the participants, calculated with the minimum wage, can be around HUF 160,000. This is almost three times their previous income, which can be increased even further by family tax benefits.

In the long term, full employment can only be achieved by creating new tax-paying jobs and increasing their proportion. In previous years, the government supported the market-based employment of approximately 17,000 public employees in the program.

Detailed documentation is available on Munka.hu. Applications can be submitted to the locally competent government offices, district and capital district offices, the ITM says in its announcement.
