Since 2001, the Hungarian Holocaust Remembrance Day has been held every year on April 16 , because in 1944, the ghettoization of Hungarian Jews began on this day.
Due to the coronavirus epidemic, the central programs will be held online again this year , according to the MTI report. As you can read, on the Facebook channels of the National Holidays and Remembrance Days, as well as the Budapest Holocaust Memorial Center, short films and photos with the participation of Holocaust survivors, public figures, and diplomats are published.
At 4:00 p.m., a funeral prayer will be broadcast on the Facebook page of the memorial center and on the YouTube channel of the memorial days.
On the website of the Holocaust Memorial Center ( http://hdke.hu/ ), you can view an online exhibition compiled using objects and photographs from the era of emergency.
