The prayer marathon will start and end under the leadership of Pope Francis. The prayer will be broadcast from St. Peter's Basilica, the Capella Gregoriana, from six o'clock in the evening on Saturday.
Pope Francis invited all Marian shrines in the world and all the Catholic faithful to the common prayer. At the event, the Holy Father will also bless thirty rosaries, which will be taken to thirty shrines of Mary in different parts of the world, from which locations a continuous live broadcast will also be available.
Speaking to Vatican Radio, Father Stefano Cecchin "This confirms the Church's teaching that God gave us Mary so that we would never be alone. Mária is the one who took care of what the young couple needed at the wedding in Cana, and she is the one who is watching over us even now. Especially in difficult moments, like now, we need to turn to her, to our mother," Vatican News reported Father Cecchin's thoughts.
