We already knew that the Székely anthem was born a century ago. But so far no summary work has been done on the history of its origin and the process of its spread. The scientific session that the Kovaszna County Council and the Kovaszna County Cultural Center will organize in October of this year in honor of the centenary serves this very purpose, the two institutions announced.

Dr. participates in the research work. ethnographer Ildikó Kriza, historian Balázs Ablonczy, historian Nándor Bárdi, researcher Zoltán Katona, and representatives of the Csanády family.

The text of the Székely hymn was written by György Csanády in 1921, i.e. one hundred years ago, the music for it was composed by Kálmán Mihalik and it was performed for the first time in 1922.

This is what the newspaper Új Élet wrote in the report on the funeral of the composer Kálmán Mihalik, who died young, on September 15, 1922, when the work was first called the Székely hymn. "While his coffin was lowered into the grave, his good friends bid him farewell by singing the Székely National Anthem that he had composed in a truly downpour of tears."
