In our pandemic-weary world, we keep hearing the self-deception: we will soon return to the old way of life. And anyone who thinks even a little, is aware that there is no going back to the old, at least according to what you see. Historical scenery will remain for some time, in fact, humanity is facing new challenges. And they need new answers. Planetary self-education on an individual and community, national and universal level.
It is no coincidence that Swiss community ethics professor Chr. Stückelberger wrote a book about the need to create a new balance in the "post-Covid era", at all levels, a year and a half ago. Rather, thinking ahead to the post-pandemic era - because the coronaviruses and their mutants are very attached to us!
When the coronavirus, or better said, those responsible for thinking about the times after the pandemic, are already planning ahead, they define the minimums without which it is not possible to live permanently. And they always end up in the same place: minimum ethical compliance, without alignment there is no guidance, no future. From the Noah's ark that takes us into the new world era, quite a few things must be thrown out, old-man, old-world jokes, slime, nervousness, empty templates of thinking, behavior.
This was also the case in Jesus' time. For example, one of the most binding and binding ancient human traits, prejudice. Which makes salami pictures out of people. Many people judge others according to the way they saw the other person at a particular past moment in space-time. One person sees his fellow man as this, the other as that. If we were to put together a mosaic of encounters with us at one stage of our lives, we would certainly not come out of it.
The real person is not who he is as a collection of images of salami slices, but according to the shaping of God's hand. The touch of the Spirit, the radical realization that yesterday's way cannot be held towards tomorrow, old-human, utilitarian, only market-oriented images of people and remaining prejudiced thinking will not move humanity forward.
In 2018, the World Conference of Philosophers was held in Shanghai, China. Let's just be surprised that we have read almost nothing about it! And also that in a huge empire with an ancient culture and philosophy, which is already trying out the 22nd century way of life and ways of living together - for better or for worse - this was the common theme of the philosophers:
