Thousands of people are already protesting against the gigantic tourist bus station planned for the middle of the residential areas, with 62 stalls and hundreds of buses a day, which Mayor Márta V. Naszályi wants to realize in two Budapest districts, I and XII. on the border.

If built, it could be one of the largest bus terminals in the country. By way of comparison, there are 30 active bus stops at the Népliget bus station in Budapest, which handles huge traffic, and 12 active bus stops at the Stadiums. Although previously, regardless of their political background, all city governments tried to move bus stations to the outskirts of the city, now a giga-bus station would be located in the central part of the city center, which, according to the plans, in addition to receiving, parking and starting hundreds of tourist buses daily, would also destroy the quality of life of the residents. , that it would also function as a long-distance bus depot at night, with late-night arrivals and early-morning departures - says the announcement of the Green Budapestért!

Another twist in the matter is that the locals and civilians called on Márta V. Naszályi to resign, because he broke the promises he made to his constituents, even before the municipal elections, in the form of a unilateral, binding legal declaration.

The mayor claimed: "All planned local government measures affecting the quality of the environment and quality of life are informed in detail about the affected population and they are involved in the preparation of decisions...". In contrast, the mayor did not ask the local population about this very important issue when he was in a decision-making position during the implementation. First, the district newspaper of March 11, 2021 presented the facts to the people living in the area, writing: "The preparation of the tourist bus parking lot to be built in the abandoned operational area of the Southern Railway Station is progressing at a good pace, which will relieve the burden on the Castle and Gellért Hill", they write.

They later held an online reception where they tried to sell the project to shocked residents, but it was not the same as the community planning promised during the election campaign. It was not searched on the west side of the planned bus station, XII. neither the stakeholders living in the district, the mayor only presented his plans at a narrow local government committee meeting, after the XII. district, Hegyvidéki Self-Government invited him to the meeting due to the large number of complaints received from the public, the announcement states.

The mayor working on the implementation of the terminal not only disrupted community planning, but cited the government decree issued by the epidemic situation and without reason extended the deadline for fulfilling the public interest data request related to the project, the movement writes.

The mayor does not answer the list of questions from the locals, which has now swelled to 70 items, despite the fact that he made a special promise to do so in an online consultation.

According to their information, the lease agreement has already been signed with the owner of the bus station plot - Hungarian State Railways - despite the expressed objections of those concerned - for 10+5 years. The visual plans have been completed, and various ideas about the operation have also come to light, again only without consultation with the stakeholders, they add.
