The newly established innovative center for helping families, the Kincs Smart Family Centrum, is announcing a tender for start-up companies that help families and provide smart solutions - announced the minister without portfolio responsible for families on Saturday, on the International Day of Families in Budapest.

Katalin Novák said: the aim of the center and the competition is for families to preserve their traditional values, but at the same time adapt to the challenges of the times. According to the minister, there are many situations, habits, and daily routines in the lives of families that would benefit from a smart, innovative solution. The center supports and will help these innovative solutions, he added.

Piroska Szalai, head of the Kincs Smart Family Centrum, explained the details of the competition and announced: until August 15th, companies based in Hungary that have products and services that make life easier for families with at least a prototype, or even those that are already on the market, are expected to apply. Companies that develop solutions that adapt to family tasks that have changed due to the coronavirus epidemic are at an advantage, he said.

He added that applications can be made in six categories - social and community innovations, e-health, education of the future, smart family homes, family cash register, music and creative solutions.

The competition consists of three rounds: after the application, a pre-screening is held, the companies that reach the semi-finals must present their product and service in three minutes in September, and then the best in the category enter the final, where the jury chooses the winners, he explained.

He informed: the grand prize is HUF six million, in addition, the best female entrepreneur will be awarded with a special prize, and the so-called Kincs Smart Family Package will be distributed.

Tünde Főrész spoke about how the Kincs has been operating as a family research institute for three years, but with the launch of the Kincs Smart Family Centrum, the activities of the institution are expanding: it helps bring innovation and the world of families into closer contact.

The competition contributes to the fact that businesses are much more present in the lives of families with their solutions, and it also helps family values ​​to appear as much as possible in business life, said the president of Kincs.
