Ukraine, which is preparing to join the European Union and NATO, is already judging Brussels with the arrogance of a great power, primarily because of Hungarian and Polish minority policies.

"Ukraine expects the European Union to soon review its neighborhood policy with regard to all Eastern European countries," said Olha Stefanisina at a conference in Kyiv. Attention, the lady did not speak on behalf of some extreme Ukrainian nationalist group, she is precisely the deputy prime minister responsible for European and Euro-Atlantic integration of Ukraine!

This statement in itself proves how misguided the leadership of Ukraine, which has been lifted into the bosom of the United States, and how it does not feel its own weight. Now - because they are in the news every day - their leaders think they are important, and now they even claim that they want to dictate! But it won't work that way. It is clear that the leadership promising Little Romania to Romania is in good hands with Bucharest, but if we look at Poland, or Hungary in particular, it is by no means certain that now is the time to "speak" to Brussels and tell them what Warsaw and Budapest should do. !

They think they report to the boss, but there is no such thing in the EU, in principle it is made up of sovereign states. Moreover, both the Poles and Hungary regularly come up with constructive ideas for their own minorities living in Ukraine, but the Ukrainians put more and more pressure on the minorities. Their extremists also commit increasingly harsh actions against Hungarians, and curbing them is not one of the strengths of the Ukrainian authorities.

Of course, the neighborhood policy can be reviewed at any time, but in Kyiv it should be understood that there are serious conditions for this; the elimination of discrimination against the Polish and Hungarian minorities, and the provision of the basic human and civil rights to which people living in their homeland are entitled, regardless of their nationality. Unfortunately, the current demanding expression is not the first from the Ukrainian side...
