The village of Maradék is the bastion of scattered Hungarians in Szerém - emphasized János Árpád Potápi, the State Secretary responsible for national policy at the Prime Minister's Office, at the ceremonial handover of the Bárka Kindergarten completed within the framework of the Carpathian Basin Kindergarten Development Program in Maradék, Vojvodina.

He pointed out that the Hungarian kindergartens abroad are the cornerstones of the strong institutional system , in which, from the nursery school to the university, a joint effort ensures that Hungarian children and students can learn Hungarian in their homeland.

"Those who study in their homeland find it easier to prosper there and stay in their narrower homeland, thus enriching the local community," said the State Secretary, who reminded in his speech that members of the local community became Reformed more than a hundred years ago in order to preserve their Hungarian identity. .

"The Bárka Református Kindergarten, which is now being handed over, is also the guarantee of the survival of the faith and the nation for future generations," said János Árpád Potápi .

He indicated: the fate of faith and the nation, the issue of worship and the mother tongue are closely related in the history of Protestantism. In the spirit of this, Bishop Zoltán Balog also discussed the national strategy of the Reformed Church Viktor Orbán . This cooperation is also fruitful for the Hungarian government, as around 3,000 churches and religious institutions have been built or renovated throughout the Carpathian Basin, he pointed out.

He added: at the time of the conversion, the reformed people of the motherland stood up for the community of the remnants. History is now repeating itself. The government of Hungary supported the plan to build a kindergarten in the same way in this community. This support is not unique, he said, adding that within the framework of the Carpathian Basin kindergarten development program, a thousand nurseries and kindergartens were built or renovated abroad. Three new kindergartens are being built in Vojvodina, two of which have already been completed, and the third will be ready soon, in addition, 44 Vojvodina kindergartens will be renovated, he added.

According to the state secretary, it is particularly important in Vojvodina that a well-thought-out and workable strategy is implemented with the coordination of the Hungarian National Council.

"Prime Minister Viktor Orbán said that our mother tongue connects us to ancient times, which other European peoples are not familiar with. If we forget our mother tongue, something irreplaceable will be lost from the world," János Árpád Potápi, the Prime Minister of Hungary, quoted, emphasizing that one of the missions of Hungarians is to keep their mother tongue alive.

If a community has a strong leader who enjoys the support of the Vojvodina Hungarian Association (VMSZ) and the Hungarian government, it will be able to perform miracles, such a miracle has just happened in Maradék - said the state secretary, with the message: "let the Reformed kindergarten in Marádék also be like this. " dedicated to the mission for Szerémség as a whole".

The State Secretary for National Policy thanked the Vojvodina Hungarians for their support and that on April 3 this year, thanks to their votes, the government of Hungary received historic confirmation. Dániel Halász's steadfast work made the construction a success despite the difficulties caused by the pandemic. Furthermore, the VMSZ's preservation of Vojvodina Hungarians as a whole, with its value-creating attitude and hard work. He singled out István Pásztor , the president of the VMSZ, who, according to his words, brings together the life of the Vojvodina Hungarians blessed with tireless carrying capacity and organizational skills.
