The first Lutheran kindergarten in Romania, built as part of the Hungarian state's Carpathian Basin kindergarten development program, was handed over on Sunday afternoon in Nagyvárad. The newly built institution provides 120 children in four groups with high-quality kindergarten day care.

István Grezsa , ministerial commissioner also responsible for the kindergarten development program, told MTI after the opening ceremony: the kindergarten program is part of the Hungarian self-building process, but it also serves to understand the peoples of the Carpathian Basin.

“We must acknowledge that this unique geopolitical historical and geographic location is home to several peoples. Thirty years after the regime change, it becomes clear that we are dependent on each other. We must work hand in hand to formulate our expectations regarding the Europe of the future and the geopolitical challenges visible in the world. The future can only be built in this region through cooperation," stated the ministerial commissioner.

Dezső Adorjáni , bishop of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in Romania, told MTI that this is the first kindergarten built by them within the framework of the Hungarian kindergarten development program. His church is building seven more kindergartens, three of which will be handed over soon.
