47 people died, most of them elderly, chronically ill, and another 657 Hungarian citizens were diagnosed with the coronavirus, koronavirus.gov.hu announced on Friday, highlighting that 4,898,866 people have been vaccinated in Hungary so far, 2,886,292 of whom have already received the second they also received a dose of vaccine.
It was written on the government portal: the number of infected people identified in Hungary has increased to 801,025. The number of those who died rose to 29,427, and those who recovered rose to 661,564.
The number of active infected people decreased to 110,034. 1,645 coronavirus patients are being cared for in the hospital, of which 195 are on ventilators.
There are 16,209 people under official home quarantine, and the number of samples has increased to 5,697,748.
Quoting Prime Minister Viktor Orbán's radio statement on Friday morning, the government portal said: we have broken the third wave of the epidemic, we are approaching 5 million vaccinated when the new stage of the restart comes into effect. The Prime Minister announced that the curfew, the wearing of masks in public areas and several other restrictions will be lifted for 5 million vaccinated people.
