Prime Minister Viktor Orbán announced on Kossuth Radio that the operational team decided on nine mitigations.

According to all calculations, we will reach five million vaccinated this weekend, which means that we have defeated the third wave of the epidemic, Hungary is today more protected and safer from the point of view of the epidemic than any other European Union country - Prime Minister Viktor Orbán told Kossuth Rádió Good morning, Hungary! in his show.

The Prime Minister said that

when the five million vaccinated are reached, the curfew will be lifted, as will the restrictions on the opening hours of shops and restaurants and the mandatory wearing of masks in public spaces will be abolished.

Viktor Orbán announced that sports are free in public areas, private and family events with 50 people, and weddings with up to 200 people can be held without restrictions. In hotels and restaurants, the operator of the premises is obliged to ensure that such events can be held in a separate room.

In the future, the organization of outdoor events will be free, but a limit of 500 people will remain in place, and in closed spaces it will still be possible to participate in events only with a protection card, said the Prime Minister, adding that it is still mandatory to show the protection card at music and dance events.

Vaccinated members of the 16-18-year-old age group can now go to events freely - unaccompanied by an adult.

Vaccination has a life cycle. There was a time when it went up, and then it got another boost when vaccinating 16-18-year-olds. Now, however, it has slowed down, with 5-10 thousand people registering every day. That is why certain restrictions must be maintained. Even if five million people are vaccinated, there are still three million who are at risk, said the prime minister.

He added, at the same time, it should be noted that

in the neighboring countries, the vaccination rate is not yet as high as in Hungary, and there is even a threat of mutant viruses.

In addition to the vaccines that have been administered so far, there are seven million from Pfizer, two million from Moderna, and more than four million from Janssen and AstraZeneca. Therefore, if a third vaccination is needed, there will still be enough vaccine, there is no need to purchase new ones, which is why Hungary will not participate in the next EU vaccine purchase.

In parallel, the Hungarian vaccine factory is also being built, which can start producing the Hungarian-developed vaccine as early as 2022. In this way, we can also be self-sufficient in vaccine production, said Viktor Orbán.

The opposition did not support the extraordinary legal order. However, because of the three million unvaccinated people and virus mutants, it still needs to be maintained so that a quick decision can be made at any time. The Prime Minister said that they are confident that they will be able to get rid of the extraordinary legal order in the summer.

The credit moratorium will remain in its current form

The government decided to extend the loan moratorium, as it is. The moratorium has two major beneficiaries: businesses and families. The middle class, people with low salaries, needed this, he emphasized.

The moratorium has now been extended so that they can calmly decide what will happen from the first of September, when the moratorium will be lifted.

We are not in a position where people with little money can just waive the loan moratorium. Those in need of support must be supported - underlined Viktor Orbán.

A phenomenal quarter could follow

Prime Minister Viktor Orbán was not surprised by the high GDP value. He said that he always expects higher growth than experts or Finance Minister Mihály Varga. That is why he expects a phenomenal second quarter result, as more people are working now than before the epidemic. In the coming months, even more people will enter the labor market, and even more Hungarians will have jobs.

After five million people have been vaccinated, another stage follows, the restart of the economy. The determination of the minimum wage for 2022 will soon begin. Hungary has a labor-based economy, so the economic policy must also keep them in mind and help them.

The cast of the opposition is clear

The opposition is attacking next year's budget in light of next year's elections. At the same time, they have a certain cast: Ferenc Gyurcsány is the main character who controls everyone, Mayor Gergely Karácsony is a secondary character, and there is also the wife and the clown. Clowns, on the other hand, should not be taken seriously.

Not only courage and trained soldiers are needed

Today is National Defender's Day. The National Guard is always needed, because the National Guard is more than the army. The National Guard always protects the country. Protecting the homeland is easier with NATO membership, but let's not be complacent. NATO membership did not exempt us from having our own army, soldiers, and national guards. Patriots swear to defend the country at all costs, even at the cost of their lives. No one else in the country takes such an oath like them, said the prime minister.

He added that the military needs not only courage and trained soldiers, but also engineers, doctors, and chemists. That is why I want to develop this area in the near future.
