Following the idea of creative patriotism, the government set as a goal that multi-functional leisure sports facilities should be built in all districts based on specific type plans, István Simicskó, parliamentary faction leader of the KDNP and president of the National Defense Sports Association, told Magyar Hírlap.
"Sport is an excellent tool for this, in addition to its health-preserving role, it conveys values through its character-shaping power and educates for social responsibility. In the sports centers, young people will have the opportunity to learn and practice national defense sports and knowledge within a professional framework, and at the same time, the facilities can also play a significant role in the life of local communities," he added.
Last week, the work started in Jászapáti, similar to which is currently taking place in Újfehértó, Balassagyarmat, Szarvas, Baja and Szigetvár, several of the facilities will be handed over this year.
István Simicskó is confident that these facilities can play a central role in increasing Hungary's self-defense capability. "If we equip our young people with the right skills, they will be able to face the challenges of a fast-paced world. We must never forget that only a strong nation can defend its homeland against any external pressure," the faction leader stated.
