The finance minister of the Scottish cabinet, Kate Forbes, came under the crossfire of social debates because she confessed her Christian faith in an interview with the BBC on May 21. According to the allegations, Forbes' Christianity is "worrying", wrote International Christian Concern.

"I believe in Jesus Christ. I believe that he died for me, that he redeemed me, and that my calling is to serve and love him, to serve and love those around me, with all my heart, soul, mind and all my strength," Kate Forbes told the BBC.

Forbes already has a remarkable political career at the age of 31. Born the daughter of Scottish missionaries serving in India, she returned to the UK to study history. Not long after, a Scottish political party noticed him, and in 2016 he won a seat in the parliament. In 2020, she made history by presenting the budget for Scotland in the United Kingdom – the first time as a female politician – to the parliament.

In 2018, while still a member of the Scottish Parliament, he led a public prayer in Edinburgh:

"Let our politicians recognize that the way we treat the vulnerable - be it fetuses or our terminally ill patients - is the true measure of progress."

However, the simple pro-life attitude was enough to earn Forbes the wrath of the British left-wing press. The typically pro-LGBT forums and characters scrutinized his appointment and questioned his suitability for his position, especially since Forbes usually speaks in favor of the original definition of marriage.

"Those who don't agree with me accuse me of prejudice, I look at my Twitter and there I find so much mockery, abuse and all kinds of creative insults that I can't read it," said the finance minister.

However, Forbes does not just speak out against the growing hatred in modern British society, but openly fights against it: "I would like to think that if we asked the politicians sitting on the opposition benches in the Scottish Parliament if they respect me by disagreeing with me, and whether I can build a relationship with them, then one by one they would all answer yes. So, it all starts with us, not with mockery, but with doing things differently.”
